Hannah girl came to Retrieve A Golden Of Minnesota (RAGOM) from a Puppy Mill in South Dakota. In her short 5 years she has probably had 80-90 puppies, and she was SCARED! So scared that she pulled the leash out of our hands and ran away the day after we got her. After four days of searching we found her tangled up in the woods. We got her to the vet, fixed up and back to the house. Now she is doing well! She isn’t “army crawling” around the house any more and has really come out of her shell! She is now available for adoption. You can follow her progress and get more info on the RAGOM website.

Ok, this is nothing more than a shameless plug…
Some of my artwork in on display for the month of October at the Glacial Ridge Winery in Spicer, MN. If you are in the area or are looking for a road trip, stop in and have a look see.
Of course they are all printed on canvas.
Enjoy!

I am back to the blog!
Shortly after my last post ( a long, long time ago) we started noticing that our oldest dog, Lady, was having trouble getting around. After many visits with our vet, she reffered us to the U of Minnesota to have an MRI done of Lady’s back. At this point Lady had lost the use of her back legs. After a long day at the U of M we found out that Lady had multiple cancerous tumors in her spine that were compressing her spinal cord (thus the loss of function in her back legs). There was nothing that they could do for her. So, the next day the vet came to our house and we put Lady to sleep in her back yard with her brother Hugh laying next to her.
A huge shout has to go out to the people at Willmar Pet Hospital & the University of Minnesota Vet for all of the care they gave to Lady. You all made this time in our lives a little easier. Thanks!
Life kind of stopped for a while as we mourned our loss, and that is why I have been absent from the blogosphere for a while. We still miss her every day, and will never forget this sweet pup that touched our lives!
We have started fostering dogs for RAGOM again and will have more about that, art, photos on canvas, photography and more in future posts

When our new site is launched we will be offering some new and some updated CustomizeIt photo treatments. One of the new treatments is Pinhole. This effect is a hybrid of the classic looks of a holga photo and a pinhole photo. It’s a fun new treatment that adds interest to your photo. So keep your eyes out for our new site…Coming Soon!

Ok, this is nothing short of awesome. The Art House Co-op is calling everyone to participate in their A Million Little Pictures photo exhibit. So this is how it works: you sign up on their website, they send you a camera, you document your life (how ever you want), you develop the photos, and send them to the Art House Co-op. Then they will be exhibited along with all of the other photos documenting peoples lives. That will be a crazy exhibit! So what are you waiting for, sign up and get your shutter finger in shape.

Yesterday we conducted the first controled burn of the native prairie restoration in our yard. As you can see from the photo, we made a lot of smoke! A huge thanks goes out to Joel, Joel and Jeff for their help! This is a very interesting process, and it is meant to revitalize the native plants and grasses. You can find more info about controled burns on the prairie on Prairie Restorations website, although they didn’t conduct our burn we did buy all of our seed from them.
